Amazon prime membership will become more lucrative with Amazon prime music entering the market with an ad-free music streaming service. This feature is exclusively available for Prime members with features like unlimited offline downloads, voice-controlled search with Amazon software – Alexa.
The Amazon Prime Music will offer the users a choice from a wide range of local, national and international songs in over 10 languages including Tamil, Punjabi, Kannada, Bengali, English, Hindi and Telugu. The Amazon Prime Music will also be available on iOS and Android apps, web player and desktop app, Amazon Echo Devices and Amazon Fire TV Sticks.
Amazon is entering the music market after Saavn, Hungama and Gaana.com have marked a presence. Along with YouTube, these music players are dominating most of the online music streaming space. However, the music space is expecting a shakeup in the coming days as Prime is entering the market with an ad-free preposition with no added cost to Prime members. There are other players in the market with services from Telco like Airtel, Jio Music and Wynk.
For Amazon, it is a bigger move as the facility will be available for the Prime Members and hence the investments on this music acquisition will call for a prime budget location. Consumers will be happy to get more facilities under one umbrella.
As per a report, Amazon Prime has approximately 610,000 members at the end of 2017.
India has a potential music market and although Amazon is late players in entering the music market, they are still in expectations of a good response from the public. It will be a music library for Indians where music is available in ten different languages.
