There is an innovative idea for the prisoners of Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. The state government
has come up with an idea for the rehabilitation and reformation of the prisoners by starting an
internal radio station.
The inmates will run the radio station only. The radio station will be for prisoners and prisoners will
operate it too. There will be programs like, health updates, song request; spiritual songs will be
played for the prisoners.
There are speakers installed in every barrack for the broadcast of the radio programs. The initiative
has been taken to reduce the negativity and help them choose a positive path.
