Our honorable Prime Minister has come in the list of eminent personalities that children want to read about. As per a news report, the state government is planning to spend a decent sum of Rs. 59.42 Lakhs on books on the life of PM Modi.

These books will serve as a supplementary reading material for the children. These books will be available to the children of class I-V in their school libraries as a supplementary reading material. In addition to the books on the life of PM Modi, some books on Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Ambedkar and Mahatma Phule will also be stocked in the schools.

72,933 copies of books on Narendra Modi and Chacha Chaudhary at the rate of Rs. 35 each will be brought to the drive. The books are bought in both the languages English and Hindi both. A detailed report said that these books are published by Diamond Pocket Books Pvt. Ltd.

When children read biographies and autobiographies of eminent personalities, they feel great and they try to adopt and walk in the footsteps of these personalities. Many a time a role model come out these books and guide the child throughout. It is a good move for sure.

On the other hand, we have our opposition parties who are targeting this drive as a tactic to influence young children towards political parties. A party person was caught saying, “is PM Modi greater than Mahatma Gandhi or Mahatma Phule?”

PM has opposed this plan before and he said that life of a living person should not be added to the school curriculum. He further expressed that young children should read the stories of great stalwarts who made India what it is today.

The Maharashtra government has also emitted the chapters of Mughal from history to make it a Maharashtra centric textbook.
