Artist leverages the power of the # to spread the word about his work

Artist leverages the power of the # and @ to spread the word about his work

This happened to Eli Waduba, a hyperrealism pencil artist based in Nigeria. Eli shot to fame when he uploaded a pencil sketch of Kevin Hart on Twitter and tagged the superstar’s Twitter handle to the post. His tweet read, “My name is Eli Waduba Yusuf. Am a Nigerian, based in kaduna. Am a hyperrealism PENCIL Artist, I hope to become like @Harinzeyart. Please Retweet, let @KevinHart4real  see it, thank you. ” His post went viral and was shared by over 22,000 twitter users. The news soon reached Kevin Hart, and not only did he acknowledge the artist but also went on to buy the sketch. He also commissioned 3 new works that he can gift to his celebrity friends.

This is one of the bettersides of social media platforms, where anyone with a unique piece of work, a poem, a painting, or a book can use the right strategies and announce themselves to the world.
